Number Of Indian Tourist Arrivals In Bali Increases By 65.62 Pct

DENPASAR, Bali, March 21 (Antara) - The number of Indian tourists visiting Bali in January 2018 rose by 65.62 percent or 29,016 from the same period last year. "However it was down by 107 or 0.37 percent from the previous month. In December 2017 the total number of Indian tourist arrivals was recorded at 29,123," head of the Central Statistics Agency office here, Adi Nugroho, said here on Wednesday. He said most of Indian tourists came by direct flight from their country while others by cruise ship. India is the third biggest suppliers of foreign tourists to Bali after Australia and China that contributed 8.10 percent of total foreign tourists to the island or 358,065 in January 2018 up from 42,156 in December 2017. Australia is the biggest supplier with the number of tourists from that country contributing 24.20 percent of the total number of foreign tourists, followed by China contributing 13.15 percent and Japan in the fourth place. Tourists from Britain contributes 3.92 percent, the US 3.83 percent, .Russia 3.63 percent, Malaysia 3.61 percent, South Korea 2.52 percent and ?singapore 2.17 percent. Adi Nugroho said the total numbef of Indian tourists to Bali in 2017 was recorded at 272,761 up by 45.59 percent from 187,351 in the year before. The head of Badung district's tourism promotion office, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Surya Wijaya, has called for optimizing promotion to India as one of the potential markets.
