OIC Condemns Suicide Attacks at Mosques In Afghanistan

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist suicide bombing that targeted a mosque in Kandahar City, southern Afghanistan, last Friday killing dozens of innocent worshippers. The Jeddah-based General Secretariat in its statement on its website has also strongly condemned the heinous bombings that preceded that incident. While expressing its profound condolences to the victims' families and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, OIC also reiterated its firm position that any acts of terrorism were criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation. The incident in Kandahar during Friday prayers was the third one in October. The first incident on October 3, 2021, occurred in Eid Gah Mosque in Kabul, killing at least five. Just five days later, another suicide bombing incident took place at a mosque in Kunduz killing more than 80 people who were in the mosque praying. -- BERNAMA
