Ombudsman receives US ambassador

Manama, Apr. 9 (BNA): Ombudsman Nawaf Mohammed Al Ma'awda received today the US Ambassador to Bahrain Justin Siberell. He congratulated him on his appointment, wishing him success in his diplomatic duties. He presented the US ambassador with an account on the role and activities of the office of the Ombudsman in boosting human rights. He also highlighted the role of the Prisoners and Detainees' Rights Commission, being the first of its kind in the region. The meeting was attended by Deputy Ombudsman Osama Ahmed Al Asfoor and Development and International Cooperation Director Ghada Hamid Habib.
