Only one hospital bomb victim remains hospitalized

BANGKOK, May 23 (TNA) – Only one woman, injured in the blast at Phramongkutklao Hospital remains hospitalized while seven injured victims were discharged from hospital, said Deputy Director of Phramongkutklao Hospital, Colonel Surasak Thanatsiltham สุรศักดิ์ ถนัดศีลธรรม (MD). The 92-year-old woman was hit in lower jaw in the yesterday blast at a reception room, where military officials wait to receive medicine. She underwent an operation to remove shrapnel from her wound and her condition must be closely monitored. The Phramongkutklao Hospital is opened for out-patient treatment as usual today but security has been tightened at the entrance of this army hospital building. An unidentified attacker attached a green vase with artificial flowers to a wall in the reception room before the homemade bomb exploded before noon on Monday. A human rights watchdog condemned the bombing that wounded more than 20 people on the third anniversary of a military coup. (TNA)
