Opening of energy chapter important, Turkish EU minister says

ISTANBUL (A.A) - Turkish EU minister said on Thursday that opening of energy chapter was of great importance for Turkey and also for Europe. EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Bagis and Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz had a quartet meeting with European Commissioner for enlargement Stefan Fule and Commissioner for energy Guenter Ottinger in Istanbul.  "Our guests also want energy chapter to be opened, as we do. But there are some political obstacles. However we are resolute to conduct our works on the matter," Bagis said. Bagis said they discussed the matter with its technical aspect in today's meeting with EU officials, stating that Energy Minister Yildiz informed them on Turkey's energy policies in the meeting.
