Over one million methamphetamine pills seized

LAMPANG, Dec 24 (TNA) -- Combined police and soldier forces have arrested a passenger bus staff for interrogation and seized more than one million methamphetamine pills in the North, police said. As holidaymakers are preparing their trips for the upcoming New Year festive season, combined police and army forces set up checkpoints on Chiang Mai – Lampang highway and searched a tour bus. They found 740,000 methamphetamine pills contained in a black bag and apprehended the bus staff for an interrogation, police said. In a separate incident, police were able to seize about 300,000 methamphetamine pills from another tour bus, they said, adding that drug traffickers have switched to using bus staff to illegally smuggle drug from the North to Bangkok.
