Pakistan’s pavilion at BIDEC attracts huge interest

Manama, Oct. 30 (BNA): Pakistan pavilion at the Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC) with display of two state-of-art armour personnel carrier (APC) has created huge interest among top-ranking officers and officials and visitors. BIDEC 2019, which concluded on Wednesday after three days, emerged as a unqiue platform for the military and defence production industry from across the globe to showcase military armaments and vehicles used by the defense personnel. “We at BIDEC 2019 are displaying Predator special operations vehicle (SOV) and Interceptor 4X4 a light protected security vehicle,” Brig. Retd. Mohammed Khalid, Director at the Cavalier Group, said. Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has also toured Pakistan Pavilion and took keen interest in the military vehicles being displayed. Pakistan-based Cavalier Group is a PPP model and has been actively involved in designing and manufacturing defence production for local requirements as well as export purposes. “The Kingdom of Bahrain has been one of the key allies of Pakistan and especially co-operation in defence is excellent and both sides are working hard to explore more opportunities for mutual benefit,” Mohammed Khalid said. “Cavalier Group has already supplied military vehicles to the kingdoms of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and there are more projects in the pipeline,” he added. “Predator SOV is built on reinforced Toyota LC79 series chassis with upgraded Ladder Frame, Brakes, Suspension, Axels, Clutch and Wheel Station. The vehicle layout is for four men crew, formidable firepower and equipped with all necessary accessories to be deployed in variety of missions like Special Operations, Rapid Response/ First Support, Casualty Evacuation, Deep Reconnaissance and Convoy Protection.” All upgrades are specifically custom designed to meet up to 6 tons of combat weight” he added.
