Pakistan Missile Vessel PNS Azmat Visits Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- Pakistan fast attack naval vessel -- PNS Azmat -- will call at Kuantan port for four days from Wednesday on its maiden voyage to Pakistan, the Pakistan High Commission said Tuesday. Constructed in China, the vessel is fitted with state-of-the-art weapons and sensors and fully equipped to counter challenges faced by the Pakistan navy at sea, said High Commissioner Masood Khalid. He said the visit would strengthen ties between Pakistan and Malaysia and open the doors for continued cooperation between the two navies in the field of training as well as on various other facets of naval warfare. The Pakistan Navy has participated in the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) since the late 1990s and the Royal Malaysian Navy has participated in maritime exercises organised by the Pakistan Navy. -- BERNAMA
