Parliamentary delegation attends regional conference

Luksor, Mar.1 (BNA): The joint regional parliamentary for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) concluded yesterday in Egypt. The Inter-parliamentary Union and the United Nations co-organised the three-day conference, which opened on Tuesday in the City of Luksor. A parliamentary delegation led by Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee chairman Mp. Mohammed el-Sisi el-Buainain attended the regional event. The delegation took part in the sixth session of the conference, which focused on protecting infrastructure and tourism sites in the MENA region. Addressed the session, the delegation chairman stressed the necessity of drying up terror finance, combating extremist ideologies and taking he required deterrent measures. He underlined the firm stance of the Council of Representatives and Shura Council in combating the scourge of terrorism and extremism through anti-terror legislation. He also commended the dedicated efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to combat terrorism and violent and extremist ideologies through the establishment of specialized centres.
