Pay rise for BAS' 1400 Bahraini employees

Manama, Feb. 25 (BNA): In line with the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) company has announced an increase in the salaries of its Bahraini staff as of January this year.  Aiming to improve the Bahraini employees’ standards of living, the move was taken marking the celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary. CEO of BAS, Salman Saleh Al Mahmeed said that BAS had launched a comprehensive transformation strategy that focuses on human resources, highlighting the company’s intiatives to increase efficiency and productivity through improving salaries, particularly the national competencies. Al-Mahmeed explained that 1,400 Bahraini employees will benefit from the pay rise, adding that many development initiatives will follow. In a statement, BAS expressed pride in its 80% Bahrainisation rate, noting that the pay rise initiative was taken in line with the existing partnership with the Labour and Social Development Ministry and Tamkeen.
