PC Air flight seized in Seoul

BANGKOK, October 17 (TNA) - The Department of Civil Aviation is coordinating with parties concerned to assist some 400 passengers of Thailand's PC Air who have been stranded in Seoul, South Korea's capital, after a flight of the Thai airline was seized at the South Korean Incheon International Airport. Thailand's Department of Civil Aviation (DCA)’s Director General Voradech Hanprasert told reporters on Wednesday that the incident resulted from PC Air's arrear for use and fuel fees at the airport. The DCA chief said that his agency has, therefore, contacted PC Air executives to pay off their debt by 6pm on October 17 so that the airline can resume their aviation services at South Korea's Incheon International Airport and all the stranded passengers can fly to their destinations. The DCA chief acknowledged his agency has asked the Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, to send a plane to take the stranded passengers back to Thailand in case that PC Air failed to pay off the debt in due course, with the passengers allowed to fly with THAI first and pay their airfare later.
