People invited to give marigolds for city decoration
BANGKOK, Oct 5 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) asked people to give marigold plants to decorate the city during the royal cremation of HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang invited people to join the activity to pay tribute to the late King by handing over one marigold plant for each person to the city hall’s environment office.
These yellow flowers will use to decorate Sanam Luang ceremonial ground where the royal cremation will take place on Oct 26 as well as other important places, main roads, minor roads and parks.
All BMA parks will receive marigolds from the public from Oct 9-15.
A name tag of each flower owner will be provided to attach to each plant or people can make their own white name tag with 2X10 cm in size and bind it to the plant before giving to officials.
The BMA has prepared more than 2 million marigolds to be placed at temples and designated sites for laying cremation flowers for the late King.
The city hall also asked people, companies and government agencies to beautify their houses and offices with yellow flowers in full bloom from Oct 20 onwards to pay tribute to beloved King Bhumibol.
Yellow is the colour of the late King’s birthday on Monday. (TNA)
