Plus 973 Artisanat holds expo

Manama, Apr.28 (BNA): The Plus 973 Artisanat opened the “Khaleej in Bay Town” expo in the presence of Shaikha Marwa bint Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa. The exhibition was held in honour of Her Highness Shaikha Thajba bint Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, wife of Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) President Shaikh Salman bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa. HH Shaikha Thajba bint Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa had been conferred the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa Medal – First Class. The expo which will run until Wednesday (May 2) has attracted 50 Bahraini and GCC designers, who are showcasing their creations which are suitable to the month of Ramadan. “The expo is being held in honour of HH Shaikha Thajba bint Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, recipient of Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa Medal – First Class”, said Mayasim chairperson, Dr. Shaikha Mai Al-Otaibi, who initiated the Plus 973 Artisanat project. “The expo is showcasing girls’ home-made projects”, said Dr. Shaikha Mai Al-Otaibi, announcing that the upcoming exhibition, which will be held in Ramadan, will focus on heritage designs and products. Proceeds generated by the expo will go in support of a charity party. Thirty Bahraini designers graduated from the Plus 973 Artisanat last year and joined the labour market to exhibit their innovative creations, after completing training workshops.
