PM asks children to be ethical, knowledgeable

BANGKOK, Jan 14 (TNA) -- Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha on Saturday asked Thai children to be ethical and simultaneously be knowledgeable and urged them to think twice before posting messages on a social media which is now playing a great influence on youngsters in this country. Gen Prayut said while presiding over the opening the National Children’s Day celebrations at Bangkok’s Sanam Suapa near Royal Plaza that he was happy to see that several agencies organised activities on the National Children’s Day. It shows that the country is now at peace, safe and people are happy, therefore, everybody has to help preserve them by cooperating with the government, he said. The parents have a duty to teach their children and the family is a vital foundation in building a good future for the children, Gen Prayut said. The children must strive to study hard and also to find the objective of their life. Also, the children must be ethical and not to violate the law and other people’s rights, he said. Stressing this year’s motto saying ‘Thai Children Strive to Study for National Stability’ on the National Children’s Day, Gen Prayut expressed his concern over the influence of social media and urged the children to think hard before posting or sharing messages which could cause damages afterward.
