PM expresses concern on tropical storm

BANGKOK, May 7 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has expressed concern on people living in areas which might be affected by a tropical storm, according to a spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office. Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the prime minister has asked the people to monitor warnings issued by concerned government agencies and also ordered related agencies to provide assistance to affected people. Worries expressed by Gen Prayut came after the government-run Meteorological Department issued warnings to people living in the North, Northeast, Central and some Eastern provinces to stay cautious of tropical storms during the next one-two days. Gen Prayut also ordered provincial governors, Disaster Prevention and Mitigation officials and military personnel to closely monitor directions of tropical storms and to also give help to affected people urgently, Lt Gen Sansern added.
