BANGKOK, June 17 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has met the Thailand team in India to discuss policies, while the latter has asked the government to promote Thai joint ventures in the South Asian economy. The meeting took place at The Leela Palace Hotel in New Delhi on June 16, after the prime minister's arrival in India for a three-day official visit to the South Asian nation, scheduled for June 16-18, to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between New Delhi and Bangkok in all dimensions. On the occasion, Thai Ambassador to India Chalit Manityakul reported that India is expanding its international communication networks and building 100 new towns and high-speed railways nationwide. The top Thai envoy suggested that Thai investors have good chances in India for the time being, while the Thai economy also benefits from India’s networking with nearby countries as both India and Thailand are connected closely by sea. The ambassador also said that Thai authorities in India are working well together as they have monthly meetings to exchange ideas and keep their policy implementation in the same direction to generate national income and promote the good image of Thailand. The top envoy also proposed that the government develop Thai people’s positive perception of India so that more Thai investors would have joint ventures in the immense indian economy. (TNA)
