PM opens "Thailand 4.0 means Opportunity Thailand" event

NONTHABURI, THAILAND, February 15 (TNA) - The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) organizes an international seminar, "Thailand 4.0 means Opportunity Thailand", in which more than 3,000 Thai and foreign business operators participate. Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha inaugurated the international seminar, held at the Impact Trade and Exhibition in Muang Thong Thani on the outskirts of Bangkok on Wednesday morning. The prime minister also delivered a keynote speech on “Thailand 4.0 means Opportunity Thailand”, emphasizing on the country's new value–based economic model to further boost national competitiveness. The essence of the government's Thailand 4.0 model mainly covers innovations in all areas to drive the national economy ahead. Other key figures participating in the event include Thai Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak, who oversees economic affairs, founder of CP Group Dhanin Chearavanont and a representative from Huawei Technologies Joy Tan. The seminar also includes breakout sessions on New S-curve Industries, including aerospace, automation and robotics, as well as medical devices, with speeches delivered by experts in the specific areas. "The seminar is aimed to be a significant platform for a new environment of investment for the year 2017 in Thailand", BOI Secretary-General Hirunya Suchinai said. (TNA)
