Police meet on explosion in Bangkok

BANGKOK, April 6 (TNA) -- Senior police officers early Thursday discussed a minor explosion in central Bangkok in which two women were slightly wounded late Wednesday. Police officers meet on the progress made on the motive of the explosion in front of the old Government Lottery Office, near the Democracy Monument, on Ratchadamnoen Avenue. Police initially believed the bomb which exploded at about 8pm was of low-powered type. It was put in the dustbin. Two female victims who happened to stand near the scene of the incident were slightly wounded and sent to nearby hospital for treatment later. Both Bangkok police commander Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathavorn and national police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda rushed to the scene to investigate the cause of the blast by themselves. (TNA)
