Police to seek more arrest warrants in child prostitution ring
BANGKOK, May 3 (TNA) – Anti –human trafficking Police will seek more arrest warrants for another three police officers for their involvement in the child prostitution in the northern province of Mae Hong Son.
The arrest warrants will be sought for three police officers - a deputy superintendent, an inspector and a police senior sergeant major - on charges of gang rape and abducting children.
So far, arrest warrants have been issued for 11 suspects, including four local police officers and seven suspected pimps. They have been charged with colluding to force teenagers into prostitution and abducting children.
The anti-human tracking police will conduct a lie detector test on one of the victims.
Meanwhile, Mae Hong Son governor Suebsak Iamwicharn, who was transferred to an inactive post has been investigated over his alleged involvement in the sex scandal.
The alleged prostitution of minors in Mae Hong Son was brought to the surface after a mother of one victims claimed that her daughter was one of the girls lured into prostitution and local government officials including police officers are customers of the child sex trade rings. (TNA)
