Police seize two million meth pills in Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI, May 9 (TNA) - A joint operation between Chaing Rai police and army rangers arrested one suspect and seized about two million methamphetamine pills in the northern province of Chiang Rai. Following the intelligence report on transportation of illicit drugs from Mae Sai district into the area, the police in Doi Luang district intercepted a suspicious vehicle on a road. The driver left the vehicle and ran into the roadside forest. However, the police could arrest one suspect, riding a motorcycle, following the car. He was detained for questioning. During a search on the vehicle, the officials found two million methamphetamine pills, hidden inside the car. The police are searching for the fleeing suspect in the para rubber plantation and near the foot of the mountain. He remains at large. (TNA)
