Premier’s far-sighted vision commended

Manama, Mar. 26 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa was hailed for his warm welcome during his meeting with a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) delegation, led by executive director Erik Solheim. HRH the Premier received a cable of thanks in this regard from Sami Dimassi, UN Environment Director and Regional Representative, West Asia Region. The UN official hailed the Premier’s experience and far-sighted vision regarding the deterioration of the regional ecosystems, as well as keenness on protecting the environment. He stressed the importance of the Bahrain-based UNEP regional office, as a platform to support the efforts of the West Asian region to implement sustainable programmes to protect the environment.
