Premier hails Bahrain-Philippines ties

Manama, May 13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa hailed strong bilateral relations binding Bahrain and the Philippines, lauding joint ties which are based on understanding and mutual respect. The Premier was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace the Republic of Philippine’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alan Peter Cayetano, in the presence of ministers and officials. He stressed Bahrain’s keenness on bolstering trade and economic relations, expanding cooperation and activating the high cooperation committee. He underlined the crucial importance of the role played by the private sector bolstering cooperation in the fields of education, health, food security and tourism. The Premier stressed Bahrain’s business-friendly environment, highlighting promising opportunities to build economic and investment partnerships. HRH the Premier commended the Philippine expatriate community in Bahrain’s development momentum, adding that they find respect and appreciation in Bahrain. The Philippine’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs expressed thanks and appreciation to HRH the Premier, hailing his country’s keenness on developing joint ties. He paid tribute to the Premier, hailing his far-sightedness and statesmanship in dealing with all issues, stressing his country’s keenness on benefiting from Bahrain’s strategic location and economic and financial standing as a gateway for economic and trade cooperation between the Philippine and the GCC states. He commended Bahrain’s modern legislations and laws which protect the expatriate workers’ rights, paying tribute to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the care provided for the Philippine community.
