Premier, Kuwaiti Amir review bilateral relations, regional issues
Kuwait, Jan. 2 (BNA): Kuwaiti Amir, HH Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabar, received here today His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in the presence of Kuwaiti Crown Prince, HH Shaikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Prime Minister, HH Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
HRH Premier lauded the Kuwaiti Amir’s initiatives in support of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) march, noting that HH Shaikh Sabah is a high-profile GCC and Arab personality with a distinguished status and who is appreciated by everyone.
The Prime Minister hailed the role played by Kuwaiti Amir to support everything aimed at maintaining the region’s security and stability.
Kuwaiti Amir said that the Kuwaiti leadership, government and people are delighted with and proud of the visit of HRH Premier, given the prestigious status he enjoys at the GCC and Arab levels, in general, and in Kuwait, in particular.
HRH the Prime Minister conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to HH the Amir of Kuwait.
HRH Premier said that he is looking forward to building on the deep-rooted solid brotherly relations in order to enhance them and strengthen them further.
During the meeting, they reviewed the progress of the long-standing Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations, and the advanced level they have reached at the bilateral and GCC levels.
HH Shaikh Sabah and HRH the Prime Minister stressed that consultative and coordination meetings will continue in order to further bolster bilateral ties and promote them as a role model for relations between countries.
In this regard, HRH Premier said that his visit aims to identify the level reached by bilateral cooperation and discuss ways to bolster it to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The visit is also within the framework of the constant consultation and coordination between the two countries in order to agree on common stances towards various regional and global developments, amid the rapidly-unfolding world events and changes, he added.
HRH Premier affirmed that the once effective cooperation mechanisms are no longer suitable for the current situation and its economic and security challenges, and therefore, he stressed, countries should unify stances to fend off their effects on their development march and security.
They also discussed the overall regional and global issues, and their effects on the region.
HRH the Prime Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to the Kuwaiti Amir, government and people for their supportive stances towards Bahrain.
He also said that the gracious welcome and hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation reflect the advanced level of the Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations.
