Premier lauds MPs' patriotic stances

Manama, Sep. 19 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa lauded the honourable patriotic stances of members of the legislative branch in defending Bahrain and confronting attempts to downplay its political and human rights achievements. He stressed that those stances clearly reflect rejection of the Bahraini people of any attempt to tamper with their gains and democracy. HRH the Premier was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs and Shura Council members, in the presence of former Representatives Council Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani. HRH the Prime Minister stressed the growing importance of the GCC countries for the rest of the world which is showing interest in boosting commercial and economic cooperation with the GCC member states due to their importance as an influential global economic bloc. Therefore, he added, the international race towards the GCC countries requires more efforts to preserve security and development achievements as well as more vigilance and caution. He reviewed with the audience areas of cooperation with the legislative branch to serve citizens' interests. HRH the Premier asserted that cooperation between the executive and legislative branch is essential to preserve national achievements and build on them. He pointed out the government's keenness to lay bridges of cooperation with the representatives of the people, given its importance in promoting community partnership and boosting coordination to achieve comprehensive development. He praised the development and services projects carried out nationwide, stressing that preserving national accomplishments and building on them is a common responsibility. HRH the Prime Minister underlined the need for concerted efforts to maintain national security and stability by holding on to national unity, mainly amid the unprecedented regional challenges.
