Premier urges concerted efforts to defend nation

Manama, Aug. 7 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that "love of the nation and loyalty to it require every citizen, through their robust patriotic stances, a soldier who defends the homeland against whoever tries to tamper with its stability and undermine its hard-won gains." HRH Premier urged concerted efforts to counter all attempts to undermine the social fabric, stressing overt rejection of conspiracies to subvert national security or those behind them. "Allah the Almighty has blessed Bahrain with one of the best peoples whose citizens place the interests of their nation above everything else. Hence, the Bahraini people has thwarted all attempts to sow divide among its members, and the long national history bears witness of that," he said. HRH the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of pushing institutional cooperation forward to revitalise the economy and ensure the continuity of its support to the development process, stressing that the economic challenges imposed by the economic, political and security reality in the region and the world require every national effort in order to overcome them and reduce their impacts on the national economy. The Prime Minister made the statements while meeting a number of state officials at the Gudaibiya Palace today, and reviewed with them a number of regional and global issues. He affirmed that the rapidly-unfolding developments cast their shadow on the region, which, he said, requires stepping up cooperation and coordination at all levels to overcome their repercussions. In this regard, HRH Premier emphasised that terrorism is a continuum that begins in a region and spreads unless there is no actual international effort to besiege it and eliminate it at the levels of ideology, support and funding. HRH Premier warned against attempts by some sides to spread chaos in some countries in a bid to serve their plans and goals, stressing that the region’s security and stability are targeted, which, he said, requires its countries to unify stances and agree on the same goals as the future does not bode with regards to stability and development.
