Premier vows zero tolerance of terrorism

Manama, June 21 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa underscored the importance of diplomatic and media support to Bahrain’s efforts to fight terrorism and maintain its security and stability. Chairing a work meeting today, he stressed the need to thwart all attempts to tarnish Bahrain’s image by disseminating false information and denying the kingdom’s anti-terrorism efforts not only to protect itself but also the whole region.
HRH the Prime Minister directed to intensify communication with the rest of the world and highlight the danger of terrorism threatening it and the whole region. He said Bahrain is acting within an international framework in its war on terrorism, stressing that the measures taken in this respect aim to prevent foreign interference seeking to wreak havoc and terrorism.
"No government in the world can tolerate terrorising its people or tampering with their safety," he affirmed, stressing that Bahrain’s security is top priority.
"We are a state of law and institutions," he added, urging all relevant parties to maintain communication with brotherly and friendly countries and show that Bahrain is waging a war on deeds and not people in order to ensure the law is respected by all.
"Despite the gravity of the threat posed to national security, the government has been keen to ensure that measures are taken within the constitutional and legal framework," he said, reiterating the government’s pledge to continue taking all measures to protect the nation from terrorism and immunise the community against sedition and division.
During the meeting with the Deputy Premiers, the Foreign Minister, the Information Minister and a number of officials, HRH the Prime Minister underlined the need to act faster against advocates of terrorism and law-breaking as well as those who are trying to disrupt Bahrain’s democratic and human rights strides.
