President gets acquainted with activities of Bishkek Mayor’s Office to support needy citizens

Bishkek, Apr. 20, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov got acquainted with the activities of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office to provide assistance to socially vulnerable groups in a state of emergency, his press service said. The head of state visited the Bishkekpekarnya municipal enterprise, which is engaged in packing and distribution of incoming humanitarian aid through the Government of the country, the municipality, from business and international funds for needy citizens of the capital. The President noted that now the leaders of regions, districts, cities across the country are going through a great test. The President noted with gratitude that the Kyrgyz people were sympathetic to the current situation and observing discipline, provide invaluable support in the fight against the spread of coronavirus. Sooronbay Jeenbekov once again thanked his compatriots. “We clearly know who needs support in quarantine. Those who provide families with daily income are especially in great difficulty. Also those who work in the field of public services. Pay attention to food support. Compared to other states, our capabilities may be limited, but we will have enough strength to support our citizens in this difficult time,” he said. The President once again emphasized that no one will be left without attention, the necessary reserves are available. “The government, local authorities, using all the opportunities, are working hard in this direction. Also, international funds, businessmen, wealthy people provide assistance. This work will be continued. Representatives of state bodies should be in constant contact with the population, promptly respond to requests from citizens,” Jeenbekov emphasized. The head of state recalled that assistance should be provided to every needy family and citizen. “This work is under my personal control. Help should be provided at the place of actual residence,” the president emphasized. Jeenbekov noted that the government, depending on the epidemiological situation, is preparing proposals to mitigate requirements in territories where a state of emergency has been introduced in terms of permitting the activities of individual business entities. “After every crisis, development begins. To do this, we must rationally use new opportunities, time to think over on this issue. The government has begun work in this direction, I’m sure that an executable document will be developed that meets the realities of our life,” the president emphasized.
