President Gul welcomes Kyrgyz counterpart Atambaev with formal ceremony

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish President Abdullah Gul welcomed his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambaev to Ankara with a formal ceremony at the Cankaya Presidential Palace on Thursday. The two presidents began a tete-a-tete meeting following the ceremony. Gul and Atambaev will co-chair respective delegations in a separate meeting and later hold a joint press conference. Atambaev's trip to Turkey is his first official trip overseas after assuming office. Earlier in the day, Atambaev visited the Mausoleum of Turkey's founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and laid a wreath.
