President Jeenbekov gives number of instructions to interior minister

Bishkek, March 23. 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met today with Minister of Internal Affairs of the country Kashkar Dzhunushaliev, the president’s press service reported. They discussed measures to ensure public order and safety for the period of the state of emergency, which was introduced by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on March 22, 2020 throughout the country at the proposal of the Security Council. Dzhunushaliev said that in all regions of the country 14 sanitary-quarantine posts have been established, which work round-the-clock. Employees of internal affairs bodies, employees of health authorities, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and local authorities are working at these posts. The minister noted that for the period of the emergency regime, a sufficient number of employees of the internal affairs bodies were involved to implement measures to prevent the further spread of coronavirus infection. He added that all quarantine zones, facilities ensuring the livelihoods of the population, medical and sanitary facilities, and strategic facilities were provided with enhanced protection. The head of state emphasized that at the time of the state of emergency in the country, all units of the internal affairs bodies should work in an enhanced mode. Jeenbekov reiterated the need for citizens to observe strict discipline, prevent crowding, ensure public order in all retail outlets, food markets and other public places. All these facilities must be constantly monitored. He emphasized the importance of providing the employees of internal affairs bodies with the necessary equipment and medical protective equipment. President Jeenbekov noted that when crossing sanitary-quarantine posts in the regions, priority should be given to heavy trucks with food and other consumer goods, for which an unhindered “corridor” should be created in compliance with all safety measures and quarantine rules. He added that a maximum assistance should be provided to business during a state of emergency in the country. At the same time, the president drew special attention to the need to timely prevent the spread of provocative and inaccurate information about the epidemiological situation in the country. He noted that all such persons should be held liable in the strictest manner in accordance with the law.
