President proposed to extend emergency and state of emergency regimes

Bishkek, Apr. 13, 2020. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov received on Monday Deputy Prime Minister of the country, Head of the Republican Headquarters for Preventing Import and Further Spread of Coronavirus Infection Kubatbek Boronov. The current situation, measures taken to prevent further spread of coronavirus infection in the territory of the country and to overcome its consequences were discussed, the President’s press service reported. Kubatbek Boronov presented full information on operational measures taken and action plans for the short term. President Jeenbekov once again drew special attention to the provision of medical workers and other persons directly involved in the fight against coronavirus infection with personal protective equipment. He once again emphasized that in the current situation the priority attention should be paid to socially vulnerable segments of the population, and business support. The Republican Headquarters head reminded that at the initial stage many tests were frozen due to the lack of reagents. To date, the results have been fully obtained, respectively, number of cases is increasing. He stressed that, based on the schedule of recent weeks, it's definitely too early to talk about achieving the peak of morbidity. Taking into account the daily increase in the number of diseases, taking into account the situation in the world and neighboring countries, Kubatbek Boronov on behalf of the Republican Headquarters voiced a proposal to consider the possibility of extending the emergency and state of emergency in certain cities and regions, based on the analysis of medical specialists. This measure is prompted by the need to reduce social contacts between people to prevent further spread of coronavirus infection. At the same time, Kubatbek Boronov provided information on measures to support socially vulnerable citizens, temporarily unemployed persons, small and medium business entities, medical personnel, law enforcement and other involved structures. As of Apr. 13, 419 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in the republic. 67 people have recovered and discharged from hospitals. 5 coronavirus-related deaths confirmed. From March 25 to April 15, a state of emergency is in force in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast and in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast. Movement for all citizens, except for those who are issued with a pass, namely internal affairs officers and medical and civil servants, is limited between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (night time). A curfew is established.
