President signs decree declaring state of emergency in Bishkek

Bishkek, March 24, 2020./Kabar/. Today, March 24 Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed a Decree "On imposing a state of emergency in the city of Bishkek of the Kyrgyz Republic", his press service said.
In particular, the Decree states:
"On March 11, 2020 the World Health Organization declared the spread of a new COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic.
In the period on March 18-13, 2020 16 facts of infection of citizens with coronavirus infection were confirmed on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In accordance with paragraph 2 of Part 9 of Article 64 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, Articles 3, 4 and 7 of the Constitutional Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On State of Emergency" solely for the protection of life and health of citizens, their safety and public order, as well as to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection to other territories of the Kyrgyz Republic, I order:
-To declare a state of emergency in the city of Bishkek for the period from 8:00 a.m.on March 25, 2020 to 8:00 a.m. on Apr.15, 2020.
-To appoint Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Orozaliyev as Commandant of the city of Bishkek for the period of introduction of the state of emergency.
-To establish a Commandant's Office on the territory of the city of Bishkek to ensure the state of emergency.
-To approve the Regulation on the Bishkek city Commandant's Office according to the annex.
