Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Russia hold talks in narrow format

Bishkek, Mar. 28, 2019. /Kabar/. Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Russia Vladimir Putin held talks in a narrow format today, on March 28. Jeenbekov warmly welcomed his Russian counterpart and expressed his gratitude for coming to Kyrgyzstan for a state visit, the press service of the Kyrgyz President’s Office reported. “In Kyrgyzstan, you are known and appreciated as a sincere friend and reliable partner. We are always glad to see you and our Russian friends. Russia is our close, reliable ally and important long-term strategic partner. We always value our relations with the Russian Federation. Thanks to your personal support, our bilateral cooperation has reached a qualitatively high level,” Jeenbekov said. He recalled that last year several meetings were held with Vladimir Putin, this year they are meeting for the second time. “Each meeting gives a new impetus to our bilateral relations. We highly appreciate Russia's support in our country’s adaptation to the conditions of the EAEU. I express my gratitude for another military-technical support. We will always strengthen our friendly relations between our countries, welcome to Kyrgyzstan,” Jeenbekov said. The President of Russia thanked Jeenbekov for the invitation and recalled their recent meeting. “We then talked about current problems, it's nice that today we can resume our dialogue. Kyrgyzstan is our reliable ally and strategic partner. We have worked and will continue to work on a bilateral basis and on international platforms. We have just said that Kyrgyzstan will soon receive a large international organization - this is a large international event, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. I am sure that it will be held at a high level. I would like to especially note that thanks to your efforts in Kyrgyzstan there is a peaceful, stable environment that makes it possible to resolve issues of a socio-economic nature,” Putin said. After the meeting in a narrow format, the sides will hold negotiations in an expanded format.
