Prime Minister Erdogan a dignitary who belongs to Islamic world, says Bosniak member of Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency

ANKARA (A.A) - Bakir Izetbegovich, Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, said Wednesday that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was a dignitary who not only belonged to Turkey but the whole Islamic world. Izetbegovich visited the Anadolu Agency (AA) headquarters in Ankara on Wednesday and was greeted at the entrance by the President of the Executive Board and Director General Kemal Ozturk. Speaking before Izetbegovich proceeded to the AA Editor's Desk, Kemal Ozturk said that they were very honored to welcome the son of prominent intellectual of the Islamic world Aliya Izetbegovich. We did not have a chance to meet Aliya Izetbegovich, one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century. When we met his son, we got excited as much as we would have been if we had met Aliya Izetbegovich. We were honored to host Bakir Izetbegovich as the heirloom of Aliya Izetbegovich and as the Bosnian President, Ozturk said. The name Izetbegovich has a special place in the hearts of the Turkish nation. The Turkish nation will never forget this name, Ozturk noted. Later on, AA's correspondents overseas and editors in Ankara had a chance to ask questions to Izetbegovich. When AA's correspondent in Sarajevo said that it was a sunny day there, Bakir Izetbegovich said "there is snow here, but the welcoming was very warm". We are aware of how sensitive the Turks are on Bosnians. I feel great responsibility as I carry a very meaningful surname, Izetbegovich noted. Asked about his trip to Turkey by the AA's Sarajevo correspondent, Izetbegovich said that he met with President Abdullah Gul, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Deputy Premier Ali Babacan on Wednesday. On Thursday, we will meet with "our" Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul. I referred to Erdogan as "our prime minister" as he is a dignitary who belongs not only to Turkey but the whole Islamic world, Izetbegovic said. I do hope that our economic relations with Turkey will develop. The relations between our two countries are not merely based on emotional and brotherly ones. Our peoples share blood ties, Izetbegovic stressed. Our current visit to Turkey will open a new page in relations and our relations, especially in the agricultural sector, will enter a new dimension, Izetbegovic also said.
