Provocative sermon suspect questioned

Manama, July 26 (BNA): Capital Governorate Chief Prosecutor, Mohammed Al-Maliki, said that the Naim Police Station had been notified that an individual delivered a sermon that included provocative expressions that bore the hallmarks of punishable offences. The Public Prosecution launched an immediate inquiry into the report, listened to the sermon and questioned the suspect in the presence of his lawyer, Al-Maliki said, adding that when confronted with the content of the speech, the suspect admitted to delivering it. The suspect was charged with inciting hatred of the constitutional regime of the kingdom and insulting a statuary entity. He was released on residence bail pending further investigations, the chief prosecutor added.
