Public Prosection monitoring inmates' health conditions

Manama, Aug 29 (BNA): Capital Governorate' Chief Prosecutor Nawaf Al-Awadhi said that the Public Prosecution was closely monitoring all requests from prisoners and those remanded in custody regarding their health conditions as well as the application of the law and the instructions of the Public Prosecution.
These include periodic visits to prison doctors or specialists from outside the prison when necessary or assigning forensic doctors alongside prison doctors and specialists if their presence in prison puts their lives at risk.
He added that all decisions made by the Public Prosecutor were in accordance with the provisions of the law.
Al-Awadhi said that the Public Prosecution pointed out that the individual remanded in custody and whose case was brought up on August 8, has been subjected to medical examinations on a regular basis and that his medical test results indicated a stable health condition, concluding that his stay in prison did not constitute any danger to his health.
Al Awadhi added that the Public Prosecution was continuing to monitor his health condition and to take all the appropriate decisions.
