Public Security Chief attends final ceremony of anti-fraud campaign

Manama, Nov. 13 (BNA): Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan has attended the final ceremony of the awareness campaign "Don't be a Fraud Victim" of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the affiliates of the General Directorate for their efforts in fighting crimes, through awareness campaigns. He said that awareness was a key prevention factor. He directed to continue with awareness through innovative and creative methods. Director of Anti-economic Crimes, Lt-Col. Hussain Mattar asserted the importance of the directives of His Excellency the Interior Minister to take proactive and preventative measures to curb crimes. He said that the campaign included various events and activities, including a forum on the risks of fraud that targeted 120 representatives of organisations, the banking sectors and entrepreneurs. Lectures for government agencies, companies and education institutions were also held. A documentary about the campaign and its activities was presented, while the Chief honoured the organisers and the sponsors. He also toured an exhibition held on the sidelines of the ceremony. (MOI)
