Public Security Chief meets US delegation

Manama, Mar.26 (BNA): Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan has received a delegation from the US Congress and US Department of State, in the presence of the Assistance Chief of Public Security for Operations and Training Affairs. The Chief briefeNaji public sd the delegation on the instances of terrorist acts against police personnel and focused on the Iranian role in working against the security of Bahrain and its continuing interference, financial and logistic support to terrorist groups and the smuggling of weapons and explosives into the Kingdom. He said the reforms introduced by the Interior Ministry exceeded the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry, while some of the recommendations would continue to be carried out such as training, modernisation and administrative development. The Chief said the Interior Ministry would work to strengthen community partnership as an interactive approach between police personnel and members of society in the best interests of the nation and the people. The meeting reviewed security cooperation and topics of common interest. The delegation then saw an exhibition of some of the weapons and explosives seized from the terrorist groups which they used to target police personnel.
