Public Security Chief receives Director of Special Programmes

Manama, Nov.5 (BNA): Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, has held a meeting with the Director of Special Programmes at the UK-based Emergency Planning College Richard James. The meeting was part of a memorandum of understanding signed between the Interior Ministry and the British Cabinet on emergency and disaster. The Chief said that the partnership with the college in civil protection since 2005, while the strategic visions of the Interior Ministry meet international standards. He said that readiness and investment in creating a security environment are crucial in promoting development and prosperity in Bahrain. The meeting reviewed civil protection projects and programmes and means to promote the partnership to enhance emergency preparedness, update the national risk control strategy and set unify system for rehabilitation and training.
