Public Security Chief receives US Congress delegation

Manama, Nov.4 (BNA): Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan has received a US Congress delegation. He welcomed the guests, highlighting the importance of such visits and meetings in reinforcing ties between the two friendly countries. The Chief briefed the US officials on the Interior Ministry efforts to promote security and safety. He also highlighted the directives of His Excellency the Interior Minister to protect security and stability through training, hi-tech equipment and experiences of developed countries. The two sides discussed security cooperation and coordination, reinforcement of bilateral ties and topics of common interest. The delegation then toured an exhibition organised on the sidelines of the visit, showcasing samples of weapons and explosives used by terrorist groups and seized since 2011, including ammunition, grenades and bombs, in addition to the tools terrorists used to attack police personnel.
