Qatar 2022/ Germany, Costa Rica Eliminated from World Cup

Doha, December 01 (QNA) - Germany beat Costa Rica 4-2 but both were eliminated from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at Al Bayt Stadium on Thursday in their final match of Group E of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The German team finished third with 4 points, and the Costa Rican team occupied the fourth place with 3 points in the group. In the same group, Japanese team came in first place with 6 points and the Spanish team second with 4 points ahead of the German on goal difference. Four-time champions Germany were eliminated for the second time in a row from the World Cup in the group stage after failing to progress to next round in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Germany's goals were scored by Havertz 73rd and 85th, Gnabry 10th and Fullkrug 89th, while Costa Rica's goals were scored by Yeltsin Tejeda in the 58th minute and Vargas in the 70th minute. (QNA)
