Qatar 2022/ Iran's Ambassador to Doha Praises Qatar's Preparations for World Cup

Doha, November 11 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Doha Hamid Reza Dehghani stressed that the Qatari government has been able to provide the capabilities and create the appropriate atmosphere to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, pointing out that this tournament carries a great peculiarity and an unprecedented challenge, because it will be held on Arab-Islamic soil, and this is an important opportunity to convey the true message about the Arab and Islamic society. In a special interview with QNA, HE Dehghani said that the State of Qatar is able to host this world tournament with a high level of organization and show it in the best way to the whole world, especially since sports activities will be held within one city, and this in itself is a historic precedent. He expressed his appreciation for the great preparations made by Qatar to improve the infrastructure associated with streets, roads, hotels, metro, Corniche and the eight stadiums on which the matches will be held. His Excellency expressed his pride in holding the World Cup on Arab-Islamic soil, because this precedent is a real opportunity to convey the correct image of Arab and Islamic societies and reflect the principles, culture and positive behaviors through the mechanism of interacting with fans who will visit the State of Qatar from various origins during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Regarding the participation of the Iranian national team in the World Cup, His Excellency indicated that football attracts a large number of Iranian fans and is highly popular, especially since Iran’s national team qualified for the World Cup as the first team from Asia, and this places a great responsibility on the shoulders of players. He noted that the task of the Iranian national team is not easy, especially since the draw placed them among a strong list of teams with a long history in football. His Excellency noted that the Iranian national team's qualification for this year's World Cup is different from the past editions, as this tournament will be held on Arab soil, calling on fans to express their joy and support for their teams in a way consistent with the laws and regulations prevailing in the State of Qatar.
