Qatar Highlights Horticultural Expo 2023 Plans in COP 27

Sharm El Sheikh, November 11 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, through its pavilion participating in the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, reviewed its plans for the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha. The expo is hosted by Qatar represented by the Ministry of Municipality from Oct. 2, 2023, to March 28, 2024. It is held under the theme "Green Desert, Better Environment."
The Doha Expo will be held for 179 days, and 80 countries are expected to participate, and it will be held on an area of 1.7 million square meters. It aims to enhance international cooperation in the fields of environmental and cultural issues, combating desertification and reducing carbon emissions, especially in industrialized countries, where Qatar is hosting. The Expo will address the challenges that hot desert countries face in the field of desertification and sustainability, and will constitute a new opportunity for the development of agriculture and greening cities in Qatar and the Middle East region.
