Qatar Participates in 38th Session of Council of Arab Justice Ministers

Rabat, October 20 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the 38th Session of Council of Arab Justice Ministers that was convened Thursday in Ifran city of the Kingdom of Morocco with a delegation headed by HE Minister of Justice Masoud bin Mohammed Al Amri. In his remark during the meeting, His Excellency underlined the importance of legal coordination, setting into motion the legal and judicial cooperation agreements, standardizing the enforced legislations to find an integrated legal Arab system capable of countering the challenges and setting an Arab strategy capable of promoting the joint Arab legal action. In its meeting, the Council of Arab Justice Ministers adopted the proposal of the State of Qatar by approving an action plan to implement a professional Arab program in the area of building the human and technical capacities of the personnel operating in law enforcement agencies, and recommended that such program should be prepared in cooperation between the secretariats of the councils of Arab ministers of Justice and Interior. The Council of Arab Justice Ministers welcomed the State of Qatar's hosting of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, praising the vision of the wise leadership of the State of Qatar that made such global tournament, which is organized for the first time in the Arab region, as a tournament for all Arabs. The meeting addressed a range of items incorporated into the session's agenda, including the Arab Convention For The Suppression Of Terrorism and its implementation mechanisms, Arab Convention on Combating Money-laundering and the Financing of Terrorism, Arab Convention on Combating Technology Offences, Arab Anti-Corruption Convention and the draft Arab Convention on Regulating Status of Refugees in the Arab Countries. The meeting also discussed a wide range of items and documents relevant to the promotion of the joint Arab action in the legal and judicial areas. (QNA)
