Qatar Participates in First Edition of Women, Peace, Security Forum in Kosovo

Doha, October 23 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the first edition of the Women, Peace and Security Forum, which took place in Pristina, the capital of the Republic of Kosovo, under the title "Building Alliances for Sustainable Peace". In her participation in the forum representing the State of Qatar, HE Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad stressed Qatar's support for efforts to enhance the political and economic participation of women in conflict areas and post-conflict reconstruction, based on its belief in the need to support women to achieve peace, economic growth and overcome social and economic challenges. In a speech via videoconferencing, she underscored the efforts made by the State of Qatar to promote women's economic empowerment and their participation in peace and security affairs at all levels. In its first edition, the Women, Peace and Security Forum witnessed the presence of a number of Their Excellencies, Heads of State and Government, Ministers, a group of academics and representatives of international organizations and civil society organizations.
