Qatar Participates in Preparatory Meeting of GCC Interior Ministries Undersecretaries

Riyadh, October 24 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the preparatory meeting of Their Excellencies Undersecretaries of Interior Ministries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries which was held Monday in Riyadh, in preparation of the 39th meeting of their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The State of Qatar's delegation, at the meeting, was headed by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Commander of Lekhwiya Force Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al-Thani. The delegation also included a number of directors of departments and senior officers of the Ministry of Interior. The meeting discussed topics on the agenda, which contribute to strengthening the process of joint Gulf security cooperation. In this context, HE Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al-Thani praised the important and vital role played by the Security Affairs Sector of the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council in promoting joint Gulf security work, in light of the current security challenges, appreciating the tireless efforts and great achievements, and the continuous support provided by Their Highnesses, Excellencies and Ministers of Interior to strengthen the frameworks of Gulf security cooperation, and to enhance interdependence and integration among the GCC countries in various fields. He affirmed the importance of the periodic meetings of the security leaders of the GCC states in developing the security cooperation system through effective and constructive coordination, which will reflect positively on the security situation in the GCC states, continue to work on developing areas of security cooperation, and follow up on the implementation of the decisions of their Excellencies, Ministers of Interior in the GCC states.
