Doha, December 16 (QNA) - The Qatari newspapers dealt, in their Friday editorial, with the celebrations of Qatar National Day that coincides with the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, in which the State of Qatar achieved great success and brought out to the world an unprecedented edition at all levels. The newspapers pointed out that the slogan of this year's National Day, "Our unity is the source of our strength", truly embodies the values of loyalty, solidarity and cohesion among the segments of society in a way that enhances the process of construction and comprehensive renaissance according to an ambitious vision that raised the status of the State of Qatar, to be a leading economic model in the region.
The newspapers indicated that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 achieved many gains, most notably showing the status of the central Palestinian cause, and its ability to reflect the spirit of belonging, unity and true solidarity within the Arab and Islamic nation.
Under the title "National Day in Mondial spirit", Al-Raya newspaper indicated in its editorial today that next Sunday, the State of Qatar will be on a date with history as it celebrates its National Day, coinciding with the conclusion of the World Cup, pointing out that the whole world will share Qatar's national joys by bringing down the curtain on the impressive World Cup, which established Qatar as an influential sporting force in the world, capable of presenting the world with the most beautiful and wonderful sports versions and major events.
The newspaper said that Qatar is enjoying national celebrations today on the occasion of the National Day of the State, which came under the title 'Our Unity is the Source of Our Strength', as Qatar wanted to take advantage of the World Cup to send a message to humanity that we desperately need unity and rapprochement, rejecting differences and searching for points of participation, while respecting the privacy of each society, its culture, customs and traditions.
Al-Raya noted that Qatar has focused on unity and standing together in the face of adversity, as the world is experiencing many changes,stressing that the championship was a glimmer of hope for the world that the crises are over and we have returned to our normal lives.
The newspaper pointed out that Qatar benefited from its accumulated experience in hosting major sporting events around the world, so World Cup Qatar was the most watched in history, despite the boycott calls.
Al-Raya concluded by emphasizing that Qatar succeeded in the challenge, and proved to the whole world, especially those who doubted, its right to organize the World Cup. It brought out to the world an unprecedented version of the World Cup, and imposed serious challenges on the countries that will have the honor of organizing the next versions, as they will be required to outperform the Qatari creativity that was present in all the details of the World Cup.
In the same context, Al-Watan newspaper highlighted the celebration of the country's National Day, pointing out that the slogan of this year's National Day, "Our unity is the source of our strength", truly embodies the values of loyalty, solidarity and cohesion among the segments of society, which have characterized the Qatari people throughout the ages.
In its editorial today titled "huge successes", the newspaper said that Qatar is shining with unparalleled successes in every field, and continues the process of building and comprehensive renaissance according to a forward-looking and ambitious vision that elevated the status of Qatar to be a leading economic model in the region, and a regional and global hub in the fields of trade and investment, as well as in sports, of course, as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is nearing its end, to be, according to observers and followers, the most successful ever in the history of world football.
The newspaper added that the great success achieved by the State of Qatar through the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at all levels comes as part of an ambitious development process and comprehensive development plans and projects.
In this context, Al-Watan indicated that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Qatar amounted to about QR 219.87 billion in the second quarter of this year, an increase of 40.7 percent compared to the first quarter of the same year, while the World Bank expected in its latest reports that the economy would grow by about 4.9 percent this year.
The newspaper noted that the Credit Rating Agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) raised the credit rating of Qatar to AA, giving it a stable outlook in light of the recovery in global energy demand and the remarkable performance of the non-oil sectors, considering that all these data confirm that the State of Qatar is on the right path in all fields.
For its part, in its editorial today that linked between the World Cup and Palestine, the Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq said under the title "Palestine in the World Cup" that among all the successes, achievements and gains that were achieved for the State of Qatar and the Arab and Islamic world in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Palestinian cause comes from the most important gains that emerged during the tournament.
The newspaper pointed out that Palestine formed a bright presence in the hearts of the fans and represented the 33rd team in the tournament, as it was present in all the events and forums witnessed by the global event, and its flags fluttered and spread in the stands in every match and in every stadium and forum.
Al-Sharq added that sport and football brought together the Arab and Islamic nation and highlighted the spirit of belonging and unity and united hearts, not only behind all the participating Arab teams, but also behind Palestine, which constitutes the central issue of the Arab and Islamic nation, as the tournament was full of humanitarian messages that reflect the importance of cultural diversity, as well as political messages in support of the Palestinian cause, which affirm that we are one nation and one people.
The newspaper pointed out that the FIFA World Cup Qatar confirmed that the Palestine Cause is still alive in the hearts of the nation and all the free people in the world, as the great solidarity with the cause was the strongest confirmation of its justice and the clearest support for the legitimate Palestinian rights.
Al-Sharq affirmed that the World Cup Qatar was full of excitement and surprises at the tournament level that made it an unforgettable event, in addition to the political and cultural impact it has achieved, whether through the dissemination of Arab and Islamic culture, and the definition of the cultural heritage of this region and its human principles, or the manner in which the Palestinian cause imposed its distinguished presence in the World Cup.
For its part, the English-language newspaper The Peninsula said in its editorial today under the title " Greater role for sport media" that as we are approaching the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, we are reminded of the opening ceremony, which was held on Nov. 20 at Al Bayt Stadium and captured the attention of local, Gulf and international media which described it as historic, thanks to the unprecedented Qatari preparation, organization and fascination.
The newspaper pointed out that with the end of the competition approaching many agencies began to evaluate this experience and its implications, and among these is the Gulf Sports Media Federation (GSMF) which held a Symposium entitled "Impact of Qatar hosting the World Cup", noting that a number of GCC journalists said that ‘Qatar has presented an outstanding model in hosting FIFA World Cup by demonstrating the ability of Gulf region and Arab countries to host major sporting events.
The speakers focused on several areas including, benefits gained by Gulf media from the World Cup in Qatar; extend of Gulf media coverage of all kind keeping pace with the global event witnessed by the region; the impact of the global media presence in Qatar on the gulf media; and media reflections of the World Cup on the upcoming events that the Gulf countries will witness.
The speakers also highlighted what the State of Qatar has delivered on major infrastructure projects and presented the fans with iconic stadiums, advanced technology, exceptional fan experience and all facilities including an efficient transport system.
The newspaper concluded by saying that such events, which aim to benefit from this pioneering experience in this region, are important moves that will push the sports media to play further greater roles in the future. (QNA)
