Doha, October 07 (QNA) - In its editorial on Friday, Qatari newspapers dealt with a number of important topics, where the newspapers highlighted the positive results of the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the friendly Czech Republic, affirming that the importance of His Highness's visit reflects the distinguished position of the State of Qatar on the international scene, and the importance of its pivotal role, whether in the field of energy security or working for peace and stability in the world. The newspapers also praised Qatar's completion of its preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In this context, it noted the inspection tour of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani at the Abu Samra border crossing, which came to follow up the expansion and development process of the border crossing, and its readiness to receive the fans of the World Cup. Al-Sharq newspaper affirmed in its editorial today that the great interest and wide echoes in the Czech and international media for the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the friendly Czech Republic, which currently holds the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union, reflect the great importance of the results of this visit, as it comes at a time when Europe is facing crises due to the repercussions of the Ukraine war and the energy crisis and its impact on European countries, which look to the State of Qatar as one of the most important suppliers of liquefied natural gas in the world, and has a large production and logistical capacity in terms of security, energy supplies and prices, in addition to the weight that Doha represents as a reliable global peace mediator and as a peace maker, and its outstanding contributions to international peace and security. Under the headline "Echoes of His Highness's visit to the Czech Republic", the newspaper said that the importance of the visit of HH the Amir, in light of the current developments at the regional and international levels, was an indication of the distinguished position of the State of Qatar on the international scene, and the importance of its pivotal role, whether in the field of energy security, work for peace and stability in the world, adopting dialogue and peaceful settlements as a method for resolving differences and disputes, defending peoples’ issues, respecting state sovereignty and human rights, and adhering to international conventions. The newspaper noted that the results of His Highness' visit to Prague and his talks with HE President of the friendly Czech Republic Milos Zeman, do not only move the relations between the two friendly countries to a new stage of partnership, but it also enhances the long-term Qatari partnership with the European Union, and constitutes a strong impetus that will enhance the results and successes achieved by His Highness's tour, last May, which included a number of European countries, and resulted in understandings and the development of Qatar's strategic partnerships with the European Union countries. In the same context, the English-language newspaper, The Peninsula, affirmed in its editorial today that the visit of His Highness to the Czech Republic aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the economic and cultural sectors. The newspaper said that HH the Amir and Czech president discussed cooperation in the trade, industry, energy and investment fields and witnessed signing of the joint declaration between Qatar and the Czech Republic on investments and an agreement on economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the governments of the two countries. The newspaper expected an increase in cooperation between the two countries, especially in the energy sector, and a rise in trade exchange. For its part, Al-Raya newspaper said in its editorial Friday that Qatar has now reached the last mile as part of the preparations for the kick-off of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, which the State of Qatar has been preparing for nearly 12 years. Under the title "Abu Samra Border Crossing is ready to receive the guests of Qatar," the newspaper confirmed the readiness of all the facilities of the tournament to host sports competition and fans from all over the world, as Qatar is intensifying preparations to receive the World Cup guests to experience an unprecedented sporting experience, as Qatar promised the world. To this end, Qatar continues to monitor the readiness of all vital facilities prior to the start of the World Cup competitions. The newspaper noted that Qatar has completed its preparations and readiness to receive this tournament, which is the major sporting event in the world, noting that Qatar enjoys a high level of the required security and police services, and ranks first in all global security indicators in terms of low crime, in addition to possessing security capabilities that help it provide the highest levels of security and safety in various international events that have hosted many of them. Al-Raya concluded its editorial by saying that the recent expansion of the Abu Samra Border Crossing will serve travelers to and from the State of Qatar with more than double the previous capacity by increasing the number of passenger vehicle service lanes from 9 to 24, where the development of the Abu Samra Border Crossing will greatly contribute to facilitating travelers’ procedures and finalizing them smoothly and in shorter time, where the capacity of the passports and customs buildings will be doubled, and tourist tracks with the provision of a capacity to accommodate 12,000 cars entering Qatar and 12,000 cars leaving Qatar, so the guests of Qatar from the whole world to the capital of international sports are welcomed. In a related context, Al-Watan newspaper highlighted international media comments on Qatar's readiness for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which affirmed that Qatar have become a sports, political and economic center in the Middle East, and achieved a great renaissance in the field of sports innovation. The newspaper noted that Radio Monte Carlo Italia, in its report, praised the unique design of the Lusail Stadium, which will host the most prominent matches during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, pointing out that what is most surprising is the electricity bill in this sports edifice which will be really low in costs and certainly less than our cost. For its part, "Fikir Turu" magazine published an article entitled "Does Qatar score a goal in the 2022 World Cup?", in which it considered that the State of Qatar has a golden opportunity to win the difficult World Cup challenge, and it may be the biggest goal that Qatar will achieve for its future, affirming that Qatar is no stranger to organizing major tournaments, while Malik Shishtawi Founder of Arab SportsTech Forum affirmed in an interview with CNBC Arabia TV on Qatar's leading position in the field of sports.
