Doha, October 14 (QNA) - In their editorials on Friday, Qatari newspapers highlighted the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of Turkey, during which HH the Amir will head with HE the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, pointing out that this meeting comes in light of the rise of bilateral relations in all fields to the desired levels of integrative partnership thanks to the generous patronage of HH the Amir and HE the Turkish President.
The newspapers emphasized that His Highness's visit to the Republic of Turkey is a new step in the path of distinguished relations and the record of continuous cooperation that brings together the two brotherly countries, stressing that the joint meeting constitutes an important opportunity to strengthen brotherly relations between Turkey and Qatar, and to discuss more areas of cooperation, as new agreements are expected to be signed in vital areas, which will add to the strategic partnership.
Al-Raya newspaper said that the distinguished relationship between Qatar and Turkey is regulated by qualitative agreements over the years that witnessed previous rounds of strategic dialogue, as relations deepened further, which resulted in the conclusion of nearly 90 agreements in various fields. The eighth meeting of the Supreme Strategic Committee will also be marked by the signing of new agreements that push bilateral relations forward and work to enhance strategic integration between the two countries
Under the title "Qatar and Turkey.. Fraternal Relations and Strategic Integration," the newspaper pointed out that this session provides a great opportunity to support and develop relations between Doha and Ankara and explore new horizons, to strengthen and develop the existing cooperation mechanisms between them in various fields, noting that the meeting of this session is expected to contribute to strengthening the strong brotherly ties and the strategic relations that have grown and rooted over many decades between the two brotherly countries and peoples to consolidate an integrative partnership in various security, political, military, economic, investment, developmental, cultural and other fields to achieve the common interests of the two countries and peoples.
The newspaper added that Doha and Ankara witnessed the mutual official visits at the highest levels between the two countries, as well as the political consultations, stemming from the great rapprochement at the level of leaders, people and common denominators between the two countries, and the unlimited solidarity between them in times of crisis, along with the harmonious political visions regarding many files and issues.
Al- Raya also affirmed that the two countries share one political orientation that adopts dialogue, diplomacy and activating mediation efforts as a basis for security, stability and peace and the resolution of international and regional conflicts, as the economic and trade relations between Qatar and Turkey have witnessed great development in recent years, and Turkey has become one of the most polarizing countries for Qatari capital in many sectors.
For its part, Al-Watan newspaper affirmed that the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey come in light of the rise of bilateral relations in all fields to the desired levels of integrative partnership, thanks to the generous patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and HE President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Under the title "Solid Ties", the newspaper said that the meeting of this session is expected to contribute to strengthening the strong brotherly ties and the strategic relations that have grown and rooted over many decades between the two brotherly countries and peoples to consolidate an integrative partnership in various fields; The security, political, military, economic, investment, developmental, cultural and other aspects, in order to achieve the common interests of the two countries and peoples.
The newspaper stressed that it has become clear the State of Qatar's keenness to promote and develop mechanisms of fruitful cooperation, explore new horizons, and develop and expand its strategic cooperation relations with Turkey, in light of the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between them.
Al-Watan pointed out that the Turkish-Qatari Joint Supreme Strategic Committee established in 2014, and Doha hosted its first session in December 2015. Since its establishment, it has held seven meetings, resulting in the conclusion of nearly 90 agreements in various fields.

Al-Sharq affirmed the keenness of Doha and Ankara, on all bilateral or international occasions, to strengthen regional and global efforts to establish international peace and security, combat terrorism and resolve conflicts by peaceful means. The two countries are working together within the framework of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), and they call for cooperation through hosting its third summit by the State of Qatar. The two countries also are strengthening cooperation, solidarity and coordination between them in international and regional organizations, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
In another context, The English-language newspaper, The Peninsula, addressed in its editorial the issue of women's empowerment in Qatar, noting that Qatar tops the region in gender equality, women’s participation in the labor force, equality in wages in the government sector and the highest rate of female enrollment in universities. Qatari women hold the highest administrative positions, including ministerial berths, take part in municipal and the Shura Council elections as candidates and are an effective partner in decision-making processes at the highest levels.
The Newspaper pointed out to speech of the third Secretary of Qatar’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations Sheikha Al Maha bint Mubarak Al-Thani during her participation in the General Debate of the Third Committee of the 77th Session of the General Assembly on the item Advancement of Women, as she reviewed the legislation and policies aimed at achieving a balance between work and family responsibilities adopted by Qatar, which contributed to empowerment of Qatari women and enhancing their participation in the workforce.
The newspaper added that Qatar has also contributed to international efforts to prevent discrimination against women. Towards this goal, Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) along with other strategic partners recently launched a new global initiative for the empowerment of women and girls in conflict-affected areas through humanitarian aid and developmental assistance. The program called Women in Conflict Zones (WICZ), aims to change the lives of thousands of women and girls through access to social and economic services. (QNA)
