Doha, November 26 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers on Saturday highlighted the opening of Darb Al Saai events by HE Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Qatar National Day (QND) Celebrations Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, in the presence of HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, adding to the beat of the festive atmosphere the State is experiencing by hosting the most prominent global sporting event, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Qatari dailies underlined that the events of Darb Al Saai will create more distinctive opportunities for visitors and fans to explore and get acquainted with Qatar's rich and authentic heritage.
Under an editorial entitled "Darb Al Saai and World Cup", Al-Sharq newspaper said that the opening of Darb Al Saai events within the framework of Qatar National Day 2022, which is held this year under the slogan "Our Unity Source of Our Strength", represents an opportunity to introduce the world to Qatar's culture, history, traditions and heritage, because Darb Al Saai is considered a cultural space that brings together many activities derived from the ancient Qatari environment and culture, and is inspired by the authentic Arab values.
Al-Sharq highlighted the opening of Darb Al Saai events by HE Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Qatar National Day (QND) Celebrations Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, in the presence of HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, which this year coincides with the festive atmosphere already presents throughout the country with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The paper noted that the events of Darb Al Saai represent an exquisite heritage painting that combined land and sea heritage in Qatar. The Organizing Committee was keen on highlighting the Qatari identity and the cultural and heritage aspect of the Qatari people, which would provide a unique experience for visitors, especially the guests who came from all over the world to enjoy the World Cup and its accompanying events, and learn about Qatar and the Arab region.
Al-Sharq emphasized that the National Day, with its symbolism that expresses the meanings of loyalty, belonging and loyalty, will be an occasion to highlight Qatar's culture and civilization, and to introduce the true image of the region and its glorious history.

The paper indicated that the activities this year are distinguished and qualitative, and as explained by HE the Minister of Labor, they embody the slogan of the National Day "Our unity source of our strength", noting that the opening of Darb Al Saai activities coincides with the country's hosting of the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup, giving an opportunity for the world to learn about the Qatari culture and history.
The opening of the Darb Al Saai activities will add more opportunities for visitors and fans to discover Qatar's rich and authentic heritage closely, which is another great achievement, Al-Watan stressed.
Meanwhile, Qatari daily Al-Arab praised the opening of Darb Al Saai events by HE Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Qatar National Day (QND) Celebrations Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani yesterday, marking the start of 24 days of distinguished cultural and heritage activities, in addition to sports, reactional and artistic events, towards the lead up of Qatar National Day on December 18 which is also the final of World Cup.
The paper noted that Qatar has turned into a global spotlight crowded with various nationalities during the tournament. The streets, fan zones, and tourist places are full of visitors who feel happy and secured. Now, the National Day events will attract visitors and World Cup fans from all over the world, and the people of Qatar will celebrate the fruits of 12 years of serious and continuous work reflected in organizing an exceptional and historic version of the World Cup.
Al-Arab urged the concerned authorities to promote Darb Al Saai events in the fans' venues, because it is an occasion to highlight the history of Qatar, and an opportunity for the World Cup fans to learn about the authentic Qatari heritage.
In its editorial entitled "Adding Color to Festivities", Qatari English newspaper The Peninsula highlighted the launch of the activities of Qatar National Day 2022 celebrations at Darb Al Saai which will represent a distinguished addition to the festive atmosphere of the World Cup celebrations, and to the various exciting activities taking place across the country; offering football fans and visitors a wonderful cultural experience.
The paper said that Darb Al Saai embodies the slogan of Qatar National Day 2022 "Our Unity Source of Our Strength", and is considered a cultural space, which brings together many activities derived from the ancient Qatari environment and culture, and is inspired by the authentic Arab values.
Meanwhile, Al-Raya highlighted in its editorial the official figures of the first round of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which show that the average overall match attendance stands at 94% compared to stadium capacities for the event, giving a realistic and unquestionable response to haters and those who reject Qatar's hosting of the World Cup 2022.
With all 32 nations having taken to the field, more than 3 million tickets have been sold for the tournament. The highest match attendance of the tournament was the game at Lusail Stadium on November 24, with 88,103 spectators there to see Brazil beat Serbia 2-0, Al-Raya said, citing FIFA statement.
On the same day, the FIFA Fan Festival at Doha’s Al Bidda Park achieved its highest accumulative attendance, with a total of 98,000 fans throughout the day, Al-Raya added.
FIFA also confirmed that the capacities for Qatar’s state-of-the-art stadium are in line – and in fact above – the requirements provided by FIFA for each of the eight stadiums hosting games at the 22nd edition of the tournament.
