Doha, December 06 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers affirmed in their editorials Tuesday that the Qatari-UAE relations are firmly rooted, stemming from the unity of goals and common destiny.
In this regard, the newspapers highlighted in this regard HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's welcome to his brother HH President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who visited Doha on Monday, to discuss ways to strengthen brotherly relations between the two countries and exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern.
The papers pointed out that the honorable visit of HH President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates comes within the framework of the positive fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, as such mutual visits contribute to advancing relations to broader horizons and strengthening cooperation within the GCC system, noting that the relations between Doha and Abu Dhabi are witnessing increasing growth in light of the keenness of the two countries to deepen joint cooperation.
Al-Sharq newspaper underlined in its editorial the State of Qatar's keenness to support the march of the joint GCC action and its endeavor to achieve Arab-GCC cohesion and adopt unified visions in facing the challenges that the region is going through at all levels, adding that the State also supports every joint action that would enrich and strengthen the GCC unity.
In this context, the newspaper noted that HH the Amir and HH President of the United Arab Emirates held an official talks session, in order to develop joint cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries and push them to a broader levels. During the talks, they discussed the brotherly bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and consolidate them in various fields, especially regarding strengthening the bonds of cooperation for the good and interest of the two brotherly people, in addition to strengthening joint GCC action. Under the title of 'Qatar's Tourism Boom,' The Peninsula published figures earlier this year showing that the tourism sector had made a stellar recovery from the pandemic-induced setbacks in terms of visitor numbers, adding that the statistics said international arrivals from January-June this year stood at 729,000 - 19 percent more than the 611,000 number it clocked for the full year of 2021.
The Peninsula concluded its editorial by noting that visitors from the GCC made up the leading source of all international visitors (over a third at 33 percent) to the country in October, with a 10 percent increase from the prior month (September 2022) in the number of non-GCC tourists, at 66 percent of the total.
